In partnership with the Memorial School, the Winchendon Council on Aging has created a unique program matching children in our schools with local seniors to help them improve their reading. Our goal is to match our seniors with children in our school who would benefit from some extra help with reading. For one hour per week you will have the opportunity to read with a child at Memorial School. Books will be available at the child's reading level for them to read to you and there will be books for you to read to them too.
Training for seniors will be provided and transportation to Memorial School will be available as well. Seniors are also eligible for the Senior Work-Off Abatement program if requirements are met.
